"This is a modern Westinghouse project with a much higher level of security than the Soviet-designed power units we have today. And, of course, it’s many times better than the ones that Russia is currently building,” the NNEGC CEO added.

As reported, in November 2021, NNEGC Energoatom and Westinghouse agreed to jointly complete the construction of two power units at the Khmelnitsky Nuclear Power Plant (KhNPP).

The parties also signed a memorandum, which provides for the construction of additional power units at existing Ukrainian NPPs.
